I met up with my itinerant hiker-friend Sam who walked from northern Montana to Jackson Hole, Wyoming along the Continental Divide, in August 2021, for a week of backpacking in the mostly pouring icy rain. After making and breaking camp in the rain for 6 consecutive nights, everything was soaked and smelly, but the clouds cleared a few hours a day, enough to document some of the amazing scenery in the backcountry.
